Job Summary

• Our client is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (Development Sector) to drive institutional growth by securing strategic partnerships, donor funding, and new business opportunities within the development sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Business Development team.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with institutional clients and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify and engage donor agencies, government institutions, NGOs, multilateral organizations, and development partners.
• Drive client acquisition, account growth, contract negotiations, and partnership management.
• Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Legal, and Creative teams to ensure successful project handover and client satisfaction.
• Monitor donor trends, funding opportunities, competitor activities, and market intelligence.
• Coordinate proposal development, pricing, quality assurance, and submission processes.
• Maintain CRM records, business development pipeline, and forecasting reports.
• Lead the preparation and submission of grants, EOIs, RFQs, RFPs, tenders, and concept notes.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the Media, Communications, Public Relations, Donor-funded Projects is highly preferred.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in institutional business development, partnerships, proposal development, fundraising, or strategic growth, including at least 3 years in a leadership role
• Excellent proposal writing, negotiation, stakeholder management, presentation, and analytical skills.

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, International Development, Public Administration, Economics, Communications, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
• Must have a polished professional appearance, excellent grooming, strong executive presence, and confidence suitable for a client-facing role
• Applicants must be between 28 and 37 years of age.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience using CRM or pipeline management tools is an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of donor-funded programmes, institutional fundraising, procurement processes, and partnership development.
• Proven experience securing donor funding, winning competitive bids, and negotiating commercial agreements.
